We created Ray of Hope to provide at risk horses a second chance at life. Although we will never know the true story as to why they ended up in those unfortunate situations, we can only imagine based off of their present state of mind and physical appearance. We have become a huge advocate for these ponies and cant stress enough how much of an impact the community plays in our success. Our key factors are rescue, rehab and re-home. Once rehabilitation is complete we assess the nature of the pony in hopes that they can remain part of our program as a therapeutic prospect and carriage horse for our community and those with special needs. TROTT is a non-profit organization dedicated to healing both horse and human. Not all ponies are meant for this type of work, some are more advanced, some need more time and some just need to live life free in a pasture to graze and be loved unconditionally due to an injury, illness or age. With that being said we look to re-home some of the ponies we rescue into a place where they are meant to be and offered a forever-loving landing. We are very careful with choosing a home and require references, home checks and more. Horses only leave with a no kill no auction application adoption contract and a small re-homing fee.
We always want a successful match and suitable placement.
When space becomes available in our program Ray Of Hope will often time plan an event to and fund raise for at risk ponies. With out the help of the horse community, animal lovers, people, volunteers, members and sponsors we are not successful. It takes a great deal to care for our equine family between veterinary care, room and board, feed, nursing, special restrictions and a lot more that goes into this.
We CANNOT do this with out YOU.
